Our Social Status - End of Season 2020-21
When myself and Jade took on the responsibility of being Entertainments Officers for the 2020/2021 season, we thought that we might get 1 or 2 socials in, but never did we think we would be in the situation we found ourselves. 3 national Lockdowns but finally we have seen an easing of restrictions after tough winter months. We are looking hopefully ahead to next season.
We say were hopeful as we have lots of upcoming events pending to celebrate (hopefully) coming out of the pandemic and back into some form of normality! So, please get the following dates in your diary…
August 21st – Becky Hewes Memorial Tournament & Exhibition Match
We have been invited by Bicester HC to take part in a Memorial Tournament & Exhibition Match in honor of Becky Hewes. This is taking place at Bicester’s home ground. If you would like to be part of the team, please let Kirsty know ASAP.
August 21st – Middlesex League Anniversary Tournament
Indian Gymkhana HC are hosting a celebration of the Middlesex Women's League and Ashford are entering two ladies' teams. If you would like to take part in this tournament, please contact your team captain.
September 4th – CLUB DAY!
Club day is starting at 10am. It will be a 7-a-side mixed tournament and there is a Men’s 1s game too. There will be a BBQ and an ice cream van. Evening frivolities are scheduled with food, drinks and dancing on the cards! We have a DJ booked and the evening event will be shared with ACC: a social to end the cricket season whilst heralding the beginning of a new, exciting hockey season in style.
Please register your interest in Club Day by joining the Facebook event; click here https://www.facebook.com/events/544711193244471

Club Day 2014

A big thanks you to all who participated in the various challenges run across this season by the men’s and ladies’ sections. The Strava Group was full of 5Ks from the Men and pictures of ducks from the Ladies’ treasure hunts. Dan Holland provided both sections with 10 weeks of Zoom fitness sessions on a Thursday where a large group of us sweated out all that Lockdown banana bread and generally had a great time!
The Ladies also had multiple walk/run/swim challenges over the beginning months of 2021 and supported Manormead School in raising vital funds for new sensory equipment – thank you to all who donated!
We have other events pending, so please keep an eye on Facebook, Instagram,  Twitter, the club website and Whatsapp!
As always, if anyone has any ideas or would like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with myself or Jade directly. We are looking to get a small sub-committee to help with all our planning!
We can’t wait to see everyone!
