The juniors at Ashford love their hockey! Juniors of all ages, from beginners to accomplished players, find plenty of ways to progress and enjoy their hockey. Best of all, they make lasting friendships throughout their busy schedule of training and fixtures.

This 2021-22 season has been full steam ahead after the pandemic disruptions, with regular league matches, friendly games, camps and fun socials like the girls ice-skating trip at Christmas.

Highlights of the season have been the U13 boys winning the prestigious Tony Smith Tournament held at Surbiton HC. The BU14 team were so dominant in Tier 3A West, winning every game by Christmas, that they were moved up a league to Tier 2 North and finished a very creditable third place. The GU14 team had a brilliant season, winning all but one of their games and finishing top of Tier 3B North.

We are delighted that 13 of our juniors were selected to London Area Academy last season. In the U13 age group were Zack, Jake and Ryan. In the U14 age group were Aimee, Nya, Noah and Oli. Louis was in the U15 age group. In the U16 age group were Kitty, Anabelle, Eva and Ella. Jack was in the U17 age group.

We are proud of all our junior players at Ashford and recognise that their enjoyment and progression in training and games is so important for the future of our senior teams.

Players and coaches alike are looking forward to the coming 2022-23 season in the London Area leagues. Great news is that the GU16 team will be re-entering the league. Additionally, the GU16, BU14 and BU16 will compete in the Tier 3 Cup as well as the league.
The teams are showing strength in all age groups and we can’t wait to start. Good luck to all junior teams.
